New Multibond Contact Cement Offers Good Green Grab – and Meets LEED Green Building Requirements, Too.

Franklin Adhesives & Polymers, a division of Franklin International, has introduced a versatile new adhesive, Multibond® Contact Cement, that enables manufacturers of furniture and other laminated products to “go green” from beginning to end – with an adhesive that offers strong initial green grab while also helping keep the environment safe.
Multibond Contact Cement is a solvent-free water-based neoprene formula that contains no VOCs. As such, it meets LEED requirements for indoor air quality (IAQ) – and moves construction projects one step closer to coveted LEED certification.

Although safe for the environment, the new Multibond Contact Cement offers all the performance characteristics not always found in green adhesives: strong green grab, quick dry time and high resistance to water, solvent and heat. Manufacturers can machine it almost immediately after application, speeding up production in their plants for increased efficiency.  The ability to clean up this adhesive while it is still wet further reduces production time.

Exceptional versatility renders Multibond Contact Cement cost-efficient, too. This one glue can be used to bond substrates from decorative laminate, leather and rubber to particleboard and numerous other wood-based composites used in the manufacturer of furniture and other wood products. It is ideal for post forming applications and offers a two-hour open time to accommodate other production processes. For added versatility, it can be applied either with spray equipment, brush or roller.

The new Multibond Contact Cement is among a broad offering of adhesives formulated by Franklin Adhesives & Polymers to meet a wide variety of applications within the millwork, furniture and engineered lamination industries. In addition to Multibond, the division produces adhesives under the brand names Titebond® and Advantage® to meet the full scope of needs within woodworking plants.
